ARIZONA MATSURI

Outline
The Arizona Matsuri is a two-day festival featuring the culture of Japan. The Arizona Matsuri is a non-profit organization, whose Steering Committee members are drawn from the Arizona Buddhist Temple, the Phoenix Himeji Sister City Committee, the Japanese American Citizens League, the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, the Japanese Business Association of Arizona, the Japanese Culture Club of Arizona and interested individuals. The Matsuri is the means for the Arizona Matsuri to fulfill its mission of introducing the arts and culture of Japan to Arizona.

Mission
The Arizona Matsuri is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based on the dedication of volunteers who wish to introduce and educate all who are reached in the essence of traditional and modern Japanese culture.

Goal
Our mission is carried out with the goal of promoting mutual understanding and friendships with Japan, Japanese-Americans, and the local community.

Vision
The Arizona Matsuri Steering Committee strives to incorporate understandings and friendships within the community while engaging in a fun and family-friendly showcase enlightening our community with the most authentic and relevant aspects of Japan.

Recruit Information
We are currently investigating sponsorship levels.

Merchandise Vendor Coordinators (2) with the Steering Committee review merchandise applications; all steering committee members solicit new vendors to apply.

Food Vendor Coordinators (2) with an advisory team (3 Japanese) review food applications; all steering committee members solicit new vendors to apply.

Stage Coordinators invite performers – 3 stages (Cultural, Martial Arts & Taiko)
